At the End of the Tunnel (2016) - 120 min

At the end of the tunnel (Spanish: Al final del túnel) is a Argentine thriller film directed by Rodrigo Grande.
Starring Leonardo Sbaraglia, Pablo Echarri, Clara Lago, Javier Godino & Federico Luppi.
Joaquin lives alone in his big house and he is in a wheelchair, so he decides to rent his upstairs room. Within a short time he got new renters a young mother and her little child. Joaquin starts to spend more time in his basement studio and hears some strange noises one day. With the aid of a stethoscope he learns that a gang is planning to rob the bank that situates near his house.
Technically, it’s a very strong movie and beautifully captured both the above and below ground sequences. There’s a good chemistry between Leonardo Sbaraglia and Clara Lago. Without wasting time and dialogues the director brilliantly shows the flashback story of Joaquin. The plot is built slowly so there is enough time to know the characters completely and how Joaquin deal with this robbery situation makes the movie interesting. Overall, it’s a nicely executed robbery movie and a thrilling ride too.
Verdict: Good
