The Girl on the Train is an American mystery psychological thriller film directed by Tate Taylor.
Starring Emily Blunt, Haley Bennett, Rebecca Ferguson, Justin Theroux, Luke Evans & Allison Janney.
Rachel, an alcoholic divorcee always travels by train watches the ‘perfect couple’ Megan and Scott, who lives opposite to her ex-husband's home. She watches the couple daily from the window of her train and She’s even started to feel like she knows them. One day Megan disappears and Rachel starts to investigate about Megan's disappearance.
The trailer of this film was very impressive and started reading the novel next day. Like DA Vinci code, this movie also failed to impress me. The novel was very effective and it's better to read the novel than watching this film. Taylor struggles throughout the movie to string together the different narratives. Emily Blunt's performance as an alcoholic was not effective at all. Overall, I only recommend this movie for those who don't read novels.
Verdict: Mediocre
