3 Extremes II (2002) - 140 min

3 Extremes II (aka Sāngēng) is a horror film consists of three omnibus segments by three Asian directors.
1) Memories
Memories is directed by Kim Jee-woon from Korea. It tells the story of a husband who has no idea of where his wife went. On the other side the wife wakes up lying in a street, unable to remember who she is.
2) The Wheel
The Wheel is directed by Nonzee Nimibutr from Thailand. It tells the story of a greedy man who takes a cursed puppet from a dying puppet master Tao to enrich his prestige. Unfortunately, the puppet starts to show its power.
3) Going Home
Going Home is directed by Peter Chan from Hong Kong. A widowed policeman Wai shifts into a old block with his son Cheung and next day his son goes missing. In searching for his missing son Wai endsup in the neigbors apartment.
Each story deals with an entirely different topics and three directors effectively presented it. Among the three my favorite one is Going Home and the reason behind is it's powerful execution. Technical wise, Memories is far better than the other two and it employs more film techniques to craft the story. The Wheel tells a traditional story and it took some time to get going. Overall, it's an entirely different approach towards the horror genre and Highly recommended to those who likes to watch serious movie.
Verdict: Good
