The Breakfast Club is an American comedy-drama film directed by John Hughes.
Starring Emilio Estevez, Paul Gleason, Anthony Michael Hall, Judd Nelson, Molly Ringwald & Ally Sheedy.
The film tells the story of 5 high school students who attend a Saturday detention for each of their indiscretions. Brian, Claire, Andy, Allison and Bender eventually discard their differences, discussing the events that brought them to detention. For each of them, it is an unforgettable day and while the friendships they form between 7 am and 4 pm may disintegrate once they get back into the real world.
The movie does an outstanding job in constructing the kids mindset. This film deals with very mature issues regarding family and school which can influence a kid's behavior. Hughes has assembled a unique and singularly effective cast. Unlike many teen films, it's a complete character study of 5 high school students and sometimes it's funny too.
Verdict: Good
