Max Manus: Man of War is a Norwegian biographic war film directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg.
Starring Aksel Hennie, Nicolai Cleve Broch, Agnes Kittelsen, Ken Duken & Petter Næss.
The film is based on the real events of the life of resistance fighter Max Manus. The film opens with a brief footage of Max fighting in Finland in the 1940 Winter War. After the war Manus returns to a German occupied Norway. He joins the resistance movement and from their he receives special training as saboteurs. After training, He and his friends starts to fight against Nazis.
It's always good to see true stories. After finishing this kind of movies, I was looking for more information about the real events. The film opens with a war scene and there onwards it's pretty clear that it's going to be a wonderful ride. Aksel Hennie is a very good looking actor, but not look like real Max. Overall, it's a solid and a fascinating biographic war movie.
Verdict: Good
