Nocturnal Animals (2016) - 115 min

Nocturnal Animals is an American neo-noir psychological thriller film directed by Tom Ford.
Starring Amy Adams, Jake Gyllenhaal, Michael Shannon, Aaron Taylor-Johnson & Isla Fisher.
Susan is a successful and unhappily married gallery owner. One day Susan's ex-husband, Edward sends his latest unpublished novel "Nocturnal Animals" to her. Edward used to call Susan a 'nocturnal animal' and the novel is dedicated to her. The novel was actually a surprise to her because she hasn't heard from him for 20 years.
It's a tricky one "A story within a story" kind of stuff. Both Gylenhaal and Amy Adams were spectacular in their roles. The film tells about the revenge of the past on the present and the present on the past. It has a depth story and also tells three stories Susan's present life, Susan's flashbacks and the novel story. It's not everyone's cup of tea and trust me, you can't crack the story till it ends. Overall, it's a unique film and one of the best movies of 2016.
Verdict: Good
