The first installment of Universal's Dark Universe monster series starts off without offering any new to the viewers. As usual, Tom Cruise captivates his role with his charm and action sequences. The backstory of Ahmanet was nicely presented and Sophia Boutella's transitions, her style all favor the character of Ahmanet positively. The 3D effect on a particular scene really fascinates me and that was my favorite scene too. The sound department comes heavy and very loud. Apart from few poor jokes, it's a watchable action movie and I enjoyed it.
