Heath Ledger - Favorite Movie

The Dark Knight (2008) - 152 min
Starring Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Heath Ledger, Gary Oldman, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhaal & Morgan Freeman.
District attorney Harvey Dent is on a mission to stop the organized crimes in Gotham and Batman thinks Harvey is the right guy for Gotham city. Batman is eager to help him clean up the city so that he can continue the adventures life of Bruce Wayne the billionaire. Now comes the villain known as The Joker.
There is no doubt to say dark knight is Ledger's movie. His towering performance gives us a ruthless villain who cares for nothing and simply called as a transcendent performance. The psychological factor pushes every limit of the plot and works perfectly fine on every level. The main advantage of the movie is that it succeeds in transplanting the comics characters into the real world. Ledger owns the role and the effort he did to play the role is extraordinary. Ledger wants to make a fresh Joker that no one ever seen before and for that he spent around six weeks in an isolated room to fully immerse into the character. He practiced different voices and laughs for molding the psychopathic clown who cares nothing at all. Mean process he met Jack Nicholson, who played classic batman villain role for tips. The friendship between Christopher Nolan and Heath Ledger gave Ledger a creative space to fully push the limits and improves himself. He chooses method acting for the role and some improvisation he made while doing the method acting - He claps in the cell while hearing detectives promotion and the hospital scene where he detonates a bomb. In an interview Christian Bale confronts his experience of acting with ledger. He added Ledger did not do joker stuffs while rehearsals and in fact it helps the movie you can see real scary faces of the supporting characters. Ledger also puts hands on the directing department, the warning videos were his creative ideas. Ledger went on winning the posthumous Oscar for the Joker character and the only actor to win Oscar for a superhero character. This is a tribute to Heath Ledger, one of the best villain portrayal I have ever seen.

Avengers: Infinity War (2018) - 149 min

Avengers: Infinity War is an American superhero film directed by Anthony Russo & Joe Russo.
Starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson & Benedict Cumberbatch.
Thanos is looking for stones that makes him the strongest guy in the universe. Of course he is going to wipe out the entire humans and other living beings too. Now it's up to Avengers to save the world. Oh come on guys enough with this saving thing and grow up dude.
It's an entertaining movie for a common superhero movie fan and for Marvel fans this a mind blowing experience to encounter. The theatre experience was cool and felt like I was stuck in a Marvel universe. The theatre was filled with every character fans and Thor fans ruled the theatre most times for obvious reason. The second entry of Thor was my favorite scene of the film and among the Avengers I like Thor more. The humor is fine and the conversation between the characters works on paper. Finally a good villain for marvel fans and his motivation to destroy everything seems ridiculous. First half is dedicated to the introduction of each character and some characters have absolutely nothing to do, they are fully left out of the Marvel universe. The Russo brothers keep the balance pretty well of good and bad, the script was easy to follow everybody moves from one place to another and they fight they lost etc etc... Anyway, this is better than civil war. Overall, the ending was unfathomable to me and it's beyond my knowledge.

James McAvoy - Favorite Movie

Split (2016)  -  117 min
Starring James McAvoy, Anya Taylor-Joy, Betty Buckley, Haley Lu Richardson & Jessica Sula.
The story of a man who has 23 different personalities and the only person he actually trust is his therapist Dr.Fletcher. One day, one of his personalities kidnaps three girls and locked them in a windowless room.
Anya Taylor portraits the role of Casey superbly, unfortunately the one who steals the show was James McAvoy for his career defining performance as Kevin. His speech tone and body language were completely different for each personality. Speaking of M. Night Shyamalan movie, He has a style of ending the movie with a surprise and this time he literally got me. Overall, it's a smart movie that can easily thrills you and highly recommended to everyone.

Class Enemy (2013) - 112 min

Country: Slovenia
Director: Rok Biček
Cast: Igor Samobor, Nataša Barbara Gračner, Tjaša Železnik & Maša Derganc.
Loosely based on actual events it tells the story of a strict professor, Robert Zupan who is put in charge of a senior class due to a teacher goes on maternity leave. The entire class decides to go hard on him when one of his student commits suicide.
As a director, Bicek manages to create a hateful gap between the students and the school administration. Choosing a side is difficult in the movie and Director actually drags you into a state of blame. Strong performances from the ensemble cast makes the movie a compelling one with a rebellious touch. This was the Slovenian entry for the Best foreign language film and step aside the Oscar thing, it is still worth a look at. Overall, Class Enemy lands safely with minor flaws that doesn't matter in the end.

Kate Winslet - Favorite Movie

Titanic (1997) Open Matte Version - 195 min
Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, Billy Zane, Kathy Bates & Frances Fisher.
The story took place in the late 90s, a group of underwater treasure hunters recovers a safe that contains a nude drawing of a girl with a necklace. A 100-year-old woman calls the head of the underwater mission to reveal her identity and she knows about the diamond they looking for which is known as the Heart of the Ocean.
Some memories don't fade away. I still remember that day when I hold the titanic cassette in my hands. The six year old kid was mesmerized by the beauty of Kate Winslet and what to say more she was my first crush. The irresistible love story of Jack and Rose with touching 'My Heart Will Go On' theme takes the movie to whole new level of magical experience. Cameron's movie has a gripping story to tell and the love story of Jack and Rose will be the core of this epic movie. Titanic was nominated for 14 categories in Oscar and grabbed 11 Oscars out of it. Overall, Titanic still gives me the freshness of watching it for the first time and need to remember it as a Kate Winslet movie.

A Quiet Place (2018) - 90 min

A Quiet Place is an American horror film directed by John Krasinski.
Starring Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Millicent Simmonds & Noah Jupe.
The monsters invaded the world and they hunt down anything that makes noise. The Abbott family manages to survive this situation by speaking the American sign language and playing smartly.
Don't scream don't make any noise. If you do, you are dead. It's been a while since I saw a gripping thriller movie that actually makes any sense. This is a smart move by Krasinski to step forward as a filmmaker who's best known for his work in comedy movies. In this movie Krasinski shows how to raise kids to survive in a deadly dangerous situation. Blunt nailed down every single scene that her real life partner throws at her. Most of the film is silent and lack of information about the monsters makes it more terrifying. Overall, if you are a fan of horror thrillers then you can experience some genuinely nerve wracking moments from theaters.

The Trap (2007) - 105 min

Mladen, the owner of an unsuccessful construction company lives in a tiny apartment with his wife and son. One day his son collapses down and needs an operation which costs 26,000 Euros.
"What price does a human life cost?"!!! This line defines the nature of the plot and Srdjan Golubovic crafted a tense thriller that you can rely on without even thinking. He captures Mladen's emotions and isolating situation beautifully with different angle shots. Klopka is adapted from a novel by Nenad Teofilovic. The Malayalam movie Kumbasaram is an unofficial remake of this movie. The theme was neatly presented by the director and the solid acting from everyone keeps you in the dark mode zone. Overall, the fact of how far a parent would go to save his child makes this an incredibly good movie to watch.
