Mankatha (2011) - 155 min
Starring Ajith Kumar, Arjun Sarja, Trisha Krishnan, Lakshmi Rai, Anjali & Andrea Jeremiah.
A group of people plans to steal 500 crores from a local guy Arumugam Chettiar who is a part of the cricket bookies racket. Equations changed when a suspended inspector joins the party.
It's a one man show from Ajith Kumar and negative shade in his character suits him perfectly. Most people talk about his screen presence and for those who don't believe it just watch Mankatha. The salt and pepper look of Ajith was a treat to watch. Apart from Arjun Sarja and Ashwin, the supporting cast has nothing much to do in the movie. The dialogues Ajith shares during the scenes sink into the behavior of his character. Ajith has done enough justice to the character and can be called as the soul of Mankatha or kingmaker of the movie. The thing I like the most is when heroes play negative roles which many actors does nowadays. The introduction scene is a pure masala, still I loved it and keep watching it over and over again. The theme music of the movie is mesmerizing and songs were appropriately placed in the story. The only advice to Ajith Kumar is his salt and pepper look is outdated and please come up with a better haircut.
Verdict: Great
