Country: Scotland
Director: Danny Boyle
Cast: Kerry Fox, Christopher Eccleston & Ewan McGregor.
David, Juliet and Alex are looking for a fourth flatmate. After interviewing many applicants, they eventually settle on the mysterious Hugo, a decision that turns out to be a big mistake. Next day he turns up dead in his bedroom with a suitcase full of cash under the bed.
A well executed movie from director Danny Boyle and he packed up a nice thriller movie with a satisfying ending on his film debut. Screenwriter John Hodge maintains the pace of the story and the consequences for the actions of each character were nicely told. Another plus point of the film is its music that serves as an ironic counterpoint. Overall, it's an enjoyable movie if you like black comedies.
Verdict: Good
