Halima's Path (2012) - 97 min

Halima lost her husband and son because of the Bosnian War. With the help of the DNA sample, her husbands’ bones were identified. Halima is looking for the remains of her son and she is not willing to do the DNA test.
The story starts in 1977, fifteen years before the Bosnian War. After a few minutes, a message pops up saying Twenty-three years later while showing the aftermath of the War. It was selected as the Croatian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 86th Academy Awards and this is the third film of the director, Arsen Anton Ostojic that gets the opportunity to compete for Best Foreign Language Film category. Sadly, Croatia submitted more than 25 films for the Academy Award, none of them received a nomination. Overall, It tells the story of a grieving mother that communicates directly to receptive viewers and the story is inspired by the real-life story of Bosniak couple Zahida and Muharem Fazlić.
Verdict: Good
