മിയ തന്റെ കാമുകനായ ടിമ്മിനെ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കാൻ തീരുമാനിക്കുന്നു. അവളുടെ അച്ഛന്റെ അറുപതാം പിറന്നാൾ ആഘോഷവേളയിൽ മിയ എല്ലാവരുമായി ആ കാര്യം പങ്കുവെക്കുന്നു. മിയയുടെ അച്ഛന്റെ കാമുകിയായ എലിസബത്തിനെ അവിടെ വച്ച് അവൾ പരിചയപ്പെടുന്നു. എലിസബത്തിന് സുന്ദരിയായ ഒരു മകളുണ്ട്, ഫ്രിഡാ. ആദ്യ കാഴ്ചയിൽ തന്നെ മിയയക്ക് ഫ്രിഡയോട് അടുപ്പം തോന്നുകയാണ്.
ദിവ്യ പ്രണയമാണ് അതിപ്പോ ആരോട് എപ്പോ തോന്നുമെന്ന് ഒന്നും ആർക്കും പറയാൻ പറ്റില്ല. ജീവിതത്തിൽ അത് ചിലപ്പോൾ ഒരാളോട് മാത്രമായിരിക്കും തോന്നുന്നത്, കഴിയുന്നതും അവരെ കൈവിട്ടു കളയാതിരിക്കാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുക. പിന്നെ ജീവിതം ഒന്നല്ലേ ഉള്ളൂ അതിപ്പോ അഡ്ജസ്റ്റ് മെൻറ് ചെയ്ത ജീവിക്കണോ അതോ നിങ്ങൾ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ജീവിക്കണോ എന്നൊക്കെയുള്ള ആശയങ്ങൾ വളരെ ലളിതമായി പ്രേക്ഷകനോട് ചോദിച്ചു പോകുന്നുണ്ട്. സിനിമയിൽ പ്രതിപാദിക്കുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങളോട് യോജിക്കുന്നതു കൊണ്ട് എനിക്ക് ഈ ചിത്രം ഇഷ്ടമായി. സിനിമയിൽ ലവ് മേക്കിങ് രംഗങ്ങളൊക്കെ ഉള്ളതുകൊണ്ട് എല്ലാരോടും ഈ സിനിമ കാണാൻ പറയുന്നില്ല.

കോളേജ് വിദ്യാർഥിനിയായ ഡാനി ഇപ്പോൾ കടന്നുപോകുന്നത് ഒരു വിഷമഘട്ടത്തിലൂടെയാണ്. ഏത് നിമിഷം വേണമെങ്കിലും മാനസികമായി തളർന്നു പോകാവുന്ന ഡാനിക്ക് തണലായി നിൽക്കുന്നത് കാമുകനായ ക്രിസ്റ്റിനാണ്. ക്രിസ്റ്റിനും കൂട്ടുകാരും പഠിത്തത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി ഒരു യാത്ര പോകാൻ തയ്യാറെടുക്കുകയാണ്, ആ യാത്രയിലേക്ക് ക്രിസ്റ്റീൻ അവളെയും ക്ഷണിക്കുന്നതോടെ കഥയുടെ ഗതി മാറുന്നു.
ദൃശ്യങ്ങളും അതിന് അനുയോജ്യമായ പാശ്ചാത്യ സംഗീതം കൊണ്ടും സമ്പന്നമാണ് ഈ സിനിമ. ആചാരങ്ങളുടെ ഒരു കലവറയെന്ന് വേണമെങ്കിൽ midsommarനെ വിശേഷിപ്പിക്കാം. വർഷങ്ങളായി നമ്മൾ പിന്തുടരുന്ന ആചാരങ്ങളിൽ എന്തെങ്കിലും ഒരു ചെറിയ കോട്ടം സംഭവിച്ചാൽ അതിനോട് പ്രതികരിക്കുന്നത് പല വിധത്തിലായിരിക്കും നമ്മളെല്ലാവരും. വേറിട്ട വഴികളിലൂടെ സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു സംവിധായകനാണ് അരി ആസ്റ്റർ. അദ്ദേഹം തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന കഥകളും അങ്ങനെയുള്ളതായിരിക്കും. എന്നാലും പ്രേക്ഷകനെ ചിന്തിപ്പിക്കാനും അതിനെക്കുറിച്ച് കൂടുതൽ സംസാരിക്കാനും വഴിയൊരുക്കുന്നുണ്ട് ഓരോ ചിത്രവും. അദ്ദേഹം സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത ആദ്യ സിനിമയോടുള്ള എതിർപ്പ് നേരത്തെ പ്രകടിപ്പിച്ച വ്യക്തി എന്ന നിലയ്ക്ക് ഈ സിനിമ എനിക്ക് നല്ലൊരു അനുഭവമാണ് നൽകിയത്. ഞാൻ എന്താണോ ഈ സിനിമയിൽ നിന്ന് പ്രതീക്ഷിച്ചത് അത് അതിലും ഭംഗിയായി സംവിധായകന് നൽകുവാൻ സാധിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. Hereditary എന്നാ ആദ്യസിനിമയിലെ ഒരു രംഗം ഇന്നും മനസ്സിൽ നിലകൊള്ളുന്നുണ്ട് അതുപോലെ ഈ സിനിമയും ഇതിലെ രംഗങ്ങളും കുറച്ചുനാൾ തങ്ങി നിൽക്കാനാണ് സാധ്യത.

Force Majeure (2014) - 117 min

Tomas and Ebba, a middle-class couple vacationing at a fancy ski resort in the French Alps with their two children. On the second day, they face a controlled avalanche that slowly spoils the mood of their whole trip.
Force Majeure deals with a situation that can change any relationship status, Instead of protecting his family, a man runs for his own life. Ruben Östlund presents a simple truth of patriarchal society. Never know how we might react in a survival scenario like this and In the end, your action towards that situation defines who you are a hero or a coward. The third acts seem to be a forced one from the director to make the circle complete itself. It was selected as the Swedish entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 87th Academy Awards. Overall, It's a truly beautiful piece of cinema and the way drama unfolds were nicely captured by cinematographer Fredrik Wenzel.

A Man Called Ove (2015) - 115 min

Ove is an angry old man who recently got fired from the railway company. He was the former president of the block association where he lives and now he is the only man who follows the association rules. Due to the recent death of his wife, Ove has given up on life and decides to kill himself to join his wife as soon as possible.
Sweden’s official Oscar submission for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 89th Academy Awards and also made the shortlist of Nine films to be considered for a nomination at 89th Academy Awards. Lassgård was very good as Ove and one of the best performances that I have ever seen. I really enjoyed his serious comedies and well supported by the other actors and a cute cat. The important flashback scenes of the movie were shown at the right time. Overall, it's a wonderful movie and highly recommended too.

Exit (2006) - 100 min

Exit is a Swedish action thriller film directed by Peter Lindmark.
Starring Mads Mikkelsen, Alexander Skarsgård, Samuel Fröler & Kirsti Eline Torhaug.
Thomas is a successful businessman who lives a luxurious life with his wife and daughter. All the equations changed when his business partner, Wilhelm was found dead and Police arrests Thomas for the murder when his fingerprint was found all over the place.
Mads Mikkelsen who is known for The Hunt and Pusher series is the main attraction of this thriller movie. There are many movies which have the exact same story of a suspect who is on the run to prove his innocence. Like those movies, It has the ingredients to keep you on the edge of the seat. Overall, it's a face paced movie with a constant flow of incidents makes it interesting and worth a shot.
