Thesis is a Spanish thriller film directed by Alejandro Amenábar.
Starring Ana Torrent, Fele Martínez, Eduardo Noriega, Xabier Elorriaga & Miguel Picazo.
Angela, is a college student writing her thesis on audio/visual violence. Chema, a long haired boy tries to help her and he introduces her to his personal collection of violent videos. She also asked her professor's help to find videos, who have access to the university's private video library. Angela later finds him dead in his seat while watching one of these snuff films.
It's an engaging thriller and a nice exploration into the world of violent videos. The film has got some pretty good performances from the lead roles. The Amenabar's score really helps to build up the suspense with some fine piano based themes. Cinematographer Hans Burman did a brilliant job to make interior scenes look more intense, especially the boiler room scenes. Overall, it's a good suspense thriller movie and worth a shot.
Verdict: Good
