Yossi Ghinsberg എന്ന സാഹസിക യാത്രികൻ 1981ൽ നടത്തിയ യാത്രയുടെ ചലച്ചിത്രാവിഷ്കാരമാണ് ഈ സിനിമ. Yossi Ghinsberg ആയി സിനിമയിൽ അഭിനയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത് Daniel Radcliffe ആണ്.
അന്നും ഇന്നും Daniel Radcliffe നെ കാണാൻ ഒരു പയ്യന്റെ ലുക്കാണ്, അതുകൊണ്ടു തന്നെ ഇതുപോലെയുള്ള കഥാപാത്രങ്ങൾ പുള്ളിക്ക് അനുയോജ്യമാകുമോന്ന് സംശയമുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. സിനിമയുടെ തുടക്കം മുതൽ ആ സംശയം മനസ്സിനെ അലട്ടുന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്നു, എന്നാൽ അവസാന പത്ത് മിനിറ്റ് പ്രേക്ഷകൻ എന്ന നിലയ്ക്ക് വളരെയധികം സന്തോഷം തോന്നിയ നിമിഷങ്ങളായിരുന്നു. അത് ശരിക്കും Radcliffe ന്റെ വിജയമാണ് അത്രയും നേരം നമ്മളെ ആ യാത്രയിൽ പിടിച്ചിരുത്താൻ Radcliffe ന് സാധിച്ചു. യാത്രകൾ ഇഷ്ടമുള്ളവർക്കും survival മൂവീസ് താല്പര്യമുള്ളവർക്കും കാണാൻ പറ്റിയ സിനിമയാണ് Jungle.

ഫുട്ബോൾ ആണ് മാനുവലിന്റെ ലോകം. വലുതാകുമ്പോൾ നല്ലൊരു ഗോൾകീപ്പർ ആയിത്തീരാൻ ആണ് അവന്റെ ആഗ്രഹം. അത്യാവശ്യം നന്നായി ചിത്രങ്ങളും വരയ്ക്കും, പഠിത്തത്തിൽ അല്പം പുറകോട്ടാണ് കക്ഷി. അച്ഛൻറെ കയ്യിൽ നിന്നും പിറന്നാൾ സമ്മാനമായി ലഭിച്ച ഫുട്ബോളുമായി കൂട്ടുകാരോടൊപ്പം കളിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു മാനുവൽ. അബദ്ധവശാൽ പന്ത് തെറിച്ച മൈനുകൾ കുഴിച്ചിട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്ത് ചെന്ന് ചാടി. പിന്നെ അങ്ങോട്ട് പന്ത് എടുക്കാനായി അവർ ചെയ്യുന്ന ശ്രമങ്ങൾ ആണ് നമുക്ക് കാണാൻ സാധിക്കുന്നത്.
IFFK യിൽ നിന്നും Golden Pheasant Award ലഭിച്ച ചിത്രമാണ് ദ കളേഴ്സ് ഓഫ് ദി മൗണ്ടൈൻ. കൊളംബിയും പനാമയും ചേർന്ന് നിർമ്മിച്ച ഈ ചിത്രം സംവിധാനം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നത് Carlos César Arbeláez ആണ്. കുട്ടികളുടെ മാത്രം കഥ പറയുന്ന ഒരു സിനിമയായി ഇതിനെ കണക്കാക്കാൻ കഴിയില്ല കാരണം സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടും ഇരുട്ടിൽ കഴിയേണ്ടി വരുന്ന ഒരു ഗ്രാമത്തിൻറെ അവസ്ഥയാണ് ഈ സിനിമയിലൂടെ വരച്ച് കാണിക്കുന്നത്. പുതിയതായി സ്കൂളിലെത്തിയ ടീച്ചറിൻറെ നിലപാടുകൾ വ്യക്തമാക്കുന്ന സന്ദർഭങ്ങൾ നന്നേ ബോധിച്ചു. ജനിച്ചുവളർന്ന മണ്ണിൽ നിൽക്കണമെങ്കിൽ ഗറില്ല പോരാളികളുടെ ഒപ്പം ചേരണം അതല്ലെങ്കിൽ എല്ലാം ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് അവിടെ നിന്ന് പോകണം. ഇതിൽ നിന്നുമെല്ലാം മാറി ചിന്തിക്കുന്നവരെയും ആ ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ നമുക്ക് കാണാൻ സാധിക്കും. മറക്കാനാകാത്ത നിമിഷങ്ങൾ സമ്മാനിക്കുന്നത് കൊച്ചു കുട്ടികൾ തന്നെയാണ്. അവർ ഓരോ പ്രാവശ്യവും പന്ത് എടുക്കാൻ പോകുന്ന രംഗങ്ങൾ മനസ്സിൽനിന്ന് അത്രപെട്ടെന്നൊന്നും മാഞ്ഞുപോകില്ല.

Birds of Passage (2018) - 126 min

Rapayet wants to marry a woman called Zaida from a Wayuu family. They ask dowry from him and To make quick money, he decides to try his luck on illegal drug trading. Ursula, mother of Zaida is a respected woman who controls the family decisions.
The first thing that comes to my mind is the dance sequence in which a woman is introduced to inform people that she is ready to get married. Set in northern Colombia in the years between 1968 and 1980, Film mainly focuses on the lifestyle of the Wayuu family. The film follows a five-act structure - Wild Grass, The Graves, Prosperity, The War and Limbo. Filled with an immersive background score, "Birds of Passage" is an epic crime film with violent outrages and was selected as the Colombian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 91st Academy Awards. The title refers to the role of birds in the symbolic life of the Wayuu people which I guess. Overall, It offers a good viewing experience and worth a try if you like foreign movies.

The Hidden Face (2011) - 97 min

Adriàn's girlfriend left him for another man and she recorded a video message which says she's leaving. After grieving for a week, Adrian meets Fabiana, a greedy barmaid who is looking for a rich boyfriend to date.
This film was remade as Murder 3 in Bollywood and it was a watchable remake with less intimate scenes. Talking about The hidden face it shows a bit of sexual content and is reasonable because the story demands it. The logic of the movie is interesting and director Andrés Baiz handles the helpless situation superbly to keep things suspicious. The pacing of the movie is tight after the big twist and the twist is also logical. Overall, it's an intelligent thriller movie with a great twist and the trailer of the movie spoils the plot twist.
